Hi,
New to forum but have owned my 2014 XLT Dual cab since new.
Fairly stock apart from Aeroklas canopy, roof racks, Alpine head unit with reverse camera, redarc tow pro, ARB bash plates and tow hook and the usual dual battery system, UHF etc. Used as a family truckster most of the time and head out Kenilworth or up Double Island/Fraser for fun.

Has been a great truck with no issues apart from dead batteries when I had the smart charge enabled and the usual recalls. Looking at trading her in on a my19 Wildtrak or Raptor at the moment. Bit disappointed that the raptor doesn't get all the same techno/safety stuff as the Wildtrak and XLT with Tech pack. I test drove the 2 litre and really liked it but a little bit worried about reliability with a new motor. Would love to hear from any owners of the 2litre if there are many down sides.

Hi & welcome to the forum.

Have heard a bit and had personal experience with the 2lt bi motor.

I don't like it, but that's me.

Most seem to see it as a short term motor due to the constant hi revs.

No idea why Ford don't have an ad with the Raptor doing some towing like they did with the Ranger, that's what they are for.

Any motor can do donuts in dirt.

Yeah a little bit worried about the longevity of the 2 litre. I think the days of the long lasting diesel are over.
Even mates with the Toyota V8's have had lots of issues.

Lets face it diesels arent what they used to be so i dont think the revs are an issue.
The 2.0 biturbo has plenty of go in it and with a 5 year warranty im not concerned in the slightest.

It's a personal thing is all.

It has go when revving, tried towing a double horse float through hills, not much good.

VW dumped their bi turbo years ago, must be a reason.

Ford will use a V6 when it joins VW..

One thing that has always been is more power equals less gears, less power equals more gears.
